Please dont follow my mistakes and dont pick radiant for your first playthrough if you're at least remotely similar with the game. Radiant makes you build some rly bad habits that ruin your game once you switch to darkest difficulty.

Alright well i have quite a few criticisms for this tutorial ahm ahm sorry to be a party pooper : 1 she didnt explain how speed really works the game rolls an 8 sided die and whatever the number is added to the heros speed and thats the actual speed (this happens every turn) also it happens to an enemy so an enemy can go even if they have 1 speed to a 7 speed hero very rarely but still good to keep in mind, 2 quirks are not none bigginer things quirks qre essential to learn early very early when to lock in quirks what quirks to look out for what even are quirks how to lock quirks how to remove bad quirks what logic should be applied when applying quirks for example for a melee hero you should bring quirks that add damage to melee attacks or quirks that add higher crt chance thats very simple imo to understand. 3 she didnt put enough emphasis on how shit i lt is to gain high stress new players need to know this very early , stress is not just damage its damage that lasts into the hamelet and you have to pay for it, now you need to learn that recruits are not high value workers they are disposable for example if i have a level 0 class with bad quirks and disease And high stress im kicking them in a heart beat their not worth keeping . 4 neglection of camping skills , camping skills should be learned early as they can make or break some dungeon runs and medium dungeons are available early now camping skills are very important and i wont go in depth go to a channel and learn about camp skills and scouting id recommend shuffleFM very good darkest dungeon guider.anyways this guide does however explain really good and essential knowledge to dd very well done but you are underestimating what a new player can learn ;) ty for teaching the community <3. Oh and she didnt talk about the backline and the importance of annialating the back line as fast as possible as they are stress dealers and they buff the frontline which makes the frontline give the heros a big boo boo and that they sometimes stun the frontline which you can guess how fun that is

I'm planning to buy this game on the switch (I know it's old) and I wanted to get some grasp of the mechanics before I buy it. And among all the tutorials I've seen, yours is actually the best cuz you make it simple to understand and tackle the minute details that are kind of crucial to the understanding of the gameplay. I heard this game is hard so I wanted to at least have an idea instead of getting into this blindly. So thank you!

This is exactly the kind of explanation I needed that started from literal square one, especially explaining which parts of the HUD actually show you meaningful information.

I just finished More pain of Iratus. People say Darkest Dungeon is very similar, but older. Is it still worth buying today? Edited: I just bought it. Iratus is a better game. Try it.

I’m starting back into the game and this part 2 is an huge info dump. So, I think I’ll refer to this guide at a later date.

I played this game on normal for 4 hours 2 years ago & got frustrated to the point of stopping. I could tell it was well made, but it just threw too much at me all at once. I wanted to get back into it so I was looking up a guide. Another UA-camr actually recommended your beginner’s guide over there’s! You did a good job at segmenting the different mechanics. I think I’m going to be able to get into the game this time. Thank you!
